Dr. James Karantonis is a Clinical Psychologist based in Melbourne, Australia, with a passion for mental health education, group facilitation, and training. His career blends clinical expertise with a strong commitment to teaching, supervision, and community engagement, helping individuals and professionals build knowledge and skills in mental health.
He holds a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience, completed jointly through Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Clinical Psychology from Deakin University. His academic foundation informs his work in translating complex psychological concepts into practical, engaging education for diverse audiences.
Dr. Karantonis currently works in private practice, where he provides therapy while also leading child, parent, and teacher groups through his role with Monash Health. In the public system, he has also worked in a specialist assessment service, conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations for complex mental health presentations, and in child and adult inpatient settings, supporting individuals with acute mental health needs.
